There’s so much to love about hip hop music, but for fans listening to J’Moris’s awesome new single, Jelly, it’s hard to see him as anything other than a rapidly up-and-coming musical icon. Indeed, with this thought in mind, it’s incredibly hard to imagine that life almost took a very different path for J’Moris, and it was only the unwavering care and support from his older brother, Crunch, that saw J’Moris achieve the path he’s on today.
As a child, J’Moris grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, and his own experience of the region was rife with drugs, thugs, and unsavory characters. Though his family moved to Hillsboro to try and escape the overburdening gang rivalries and culture, this would have little benefit, and so J’Moris’s early life seemed likely to end in just one way.
However, his older brother Crunch was determined to make a difference, and he helped teach him the skills he needed to avoid the street life, for the most part. This would allow J’Moris the chance to actually complete his high school education – something neither of his two older brothers had the chance to do – and would set him on the path to success as he matured into an adult.
His gritty history has undoubtedly inspired J’Moris to become the artist he is today, and his style is one that we absolutely love. The killer, heavyweight lyrics and sounds strike directly to the audience, immediately grabbing your attention – and making it hard to turn his singles off!
J’Moris’s latest single, Jelly, is inspired by some of the greatest names from the hip hop world, including Gucci Main, Kevin Gates, Master P, and Biggie Smalls. Together, this combination of inspirations has made J’Moris’s sound something wonderfully unique and all his own. We absolutely love it, and we can’t wait to see where he goes next with his future singles as well.
