ARTIST OF THE WEEK; DAVID DATTNER

David Dattner hails from Calgary Alberta Canada where he formed local band "The Brown Eyed Susans". They released their first album "Afternoon Tea" in 1998. It was best described as Beatlesque power pop and had moderate success. After playing in Calgary and gaining local fame the band decided to move to Los Angeles and record their second album "Afraid of Heights" with the help of Jason Falkner of Jellyfish/Air/Beck fame. This album showed a wider range of power pop styles and showcased their strong song writing and musical prowess. With the help of Jason Falkner they re-released their latest effort in Japan and also re-released under the band name "The Big Lie". David Dattner currently is recording solo projects with help of some of the Brown Eyed Susans as well as other members such as Sparks drummer Tammy Glover and has released "Pinned" as a first single. David is also recording some new tracks at Capitol Records in Hollywood which will hopefully be coming out soon!
