VIPER BEATZ TEAMS UP WITH DA PROFESSOR & IKAYA TO DROP NEW JAM 'MONEY YOU LIKE'
Rahsaan Page, professionally known as Viper Beatz, is an American, Brooklyn born producer and music executive of Jamaican and Trinidadian descent who is steadily gaining national attention in the music scene on social media with the release of his debut Dancehall album featuring various artist titled Money Pull Up Riddim.
First introduced to music at a young age, Viper realized early on that he had a passion for music. “I started at age 13 in my room with my older brother Doraine aka Majik who was 17 at the time and deejaying in local clubs,” says Viper, “We were living in Flatbush Brooklyn with only two turntables and a mixer on the floor.” he continues.
Both Viper and his brother Majik perfected their craft by practicing mixing music. As they became older, they moved to Jamaica Queens in New York City and used the money they earned playing at parties and local clubs to purchase more vinyl records and DJ equipment so that they could continue to advance at their craft.
In early 2000, Viper & Majik decided to take their passion for music to an all new level by investing in studio equipment that they could use to create their own sounds. It was then that Viper Beatz was born. “I chose the name viper because my beatz have a venomous sound,” says Viper while explaining the snake design in his Viper logo. “My music is a mix of Dancehall and Hip Hop.” he added. Being American born with Jamaican and Trinidadian roots, Viper draws inspiration from various artist and producers from different genres including Hip Hop & Reggae legends such as Bob Marley, Vybz Kartel, Jay Z, Nas and music producers Pharrell, Dr Dre and Zaytoven. Though music has always been Viper’s first love, he understood the importance of education. He became a college graduate, obtaining two degrees, an associates degree in computer science, and bachelors in science and information technology management. His educational accomplishments landed him a full-time career as a Senior Cloud engineer for one of the world’s most famous television networks, NBC Universal, where he has continued to work for more than a decade.
In 2014, Viper reached out (via social media) to an Award-Winning, radio-broadcast deejay and Black Girls Rock recipient, DJ Cocoa Chanelle, formerly of BET Networks and HOT 97, New York’s number one station for Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae. Viper asked Cocoa to review his production for feedback. “He was just starting out and wasn’t ready back then,” explains Cocoa. “I could tell he was passionate and had potential if he continued to work on his craft.” she adds.
In 2016 Viper released his first ever beat mixtape with all original production that he produced himself. In
2017, he recorded at the studio owned by Grammy Award-Winning artist, Wyclef Jean. The song titled
Bone Grinding by The official OD ft D’nme was released commercially via iTunes. Several months later in September 2017, Viper would finally release his own debut dancehall album titled Money Pull Up Riddim featuring various artist. “When I listened to his new album, I was very impressed by his growth... he came a long way, and now he’s ready!” says Cocoa, “The lead single Money Yah Like ft iKaya is a good look for him.” she adds.
Driven to be more than just a producer, Viper spends time volunteering and helping those in need. For more details about Viper Beatz, please visit his website at www.viperbeatzproductions.com, or visit his social media
