Lil Uzi Vert and The Weeknd are “UnFazed.”
The Philly rapper and Toronto crooner team up for a new collaboration, which appears on Uzi’s just-released debut album, Luv Is Rage 2.
Over trap production that blends with a melancholy and atmospheric backdrop, Abel explains why he simply can’t be bothered. “You were always a distraction,” he sings. “It was never gonna last then / They will always be the past and / They’re just trying to get reactions from me.”
Following the XO leader’s infectious verse and chorus, Vert jumps in with a boisterous flow that teeters between rapping and harmonizing. “Yeah, the Starboy and Porn Star,” he sings. “Pull up every which way in foreign cars / Skrrr! Man, these broads are so fake / Mistakes, it’s time to part ways.”
Last year, Abel and Uzi London joined forces on the “Legend of the Fall Tour.” In fact, it was that trek which inspired the title of Vert’s biggest song to date, “XO TOUR Llif3.”
The Weeknd is now gearing up to launch his “Legend of the Fall Tour: Phase II” tour on Sept. 6 with Gucci Mane and Nav.
